Maxine and Jake Young from Berks County, USA were parents to a son named Henry in December 2019, and they are now parents to 9 children under the age of ten after adopting four and welcoming their quadruplets.
After the adoption, the couple decided to try and have another child – but got a big sᴜʀᴘʀɪsᴇ when Maxine became Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with four children, turning them into a family of 11 in just three years.
The couple got married in May 2016, they wanted a family immediately.
Jake said: “Maxine has always wanted to be a foster parent and has always dreamed of having a big family with adopted and biological children. I was completely on board and loved the idea of having a home filled with love and laughter, perhaps a little chaos too!”
However, they have a little more love and chaos than they expected.
The couple first completed their adoptive parenting training and adopted three siblings on July 28, 2017. The children were then four, two, and 11 months old, and a month later they were reassigned. entered by a fourth sibling, an infant Gɪʀʟ.
Maxine explained: “During that time, we were trying to get a kid into our family. I had multiple Mɪꜱᴄᴀʀʀɪᴀɢᴇꜱ, had a chemical pregnancy, had one round of IVF and IUI before we were finally blessed with our son, Henry, in October 2018.”
Just a year after Henry was born, the couple officially adopted the 4 siblings they are raising on December 20, 2019.
Maxine said: “It was chaotic. We went from zero to five in less than a year.”
The couple thought their family of seven was done, but within weeks of finalizing the adoption, Maxine discovered she was Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ again – this time, without even using ᴍᴇᴛʜod of in vitro fertilization.
Maxine said: “I didn’t even think I could get Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ without IVF or IUI, the things we have to do with our son. I remember texting my husband and saying, ‘Wow! Oh my God,”
And then they were on the moon knowing Maxine was expecting four, not one.
At 32 weeks, the couple welcomed 4 little angels, they are Silas Ledger, Theo Alexander, Beck ᴋɪʟʟian and Cecilia Hudson, weighing 3 to 4 pounds.
Jake said: “Fortunately, they all did a great job and we are really grateful.
Meeting babies is an indescribable moment. All the hardships of the past few months were immediately forgotten, the pain and stress didn’t matter, in that moment everything we went through was worth it.”
