Jenica Suppes and her husband from Ohio wanted to start a family. But they ran into some trouble when they discovered that she had endometriosis and that her husband’s sᴘᴇʀᴍ was swimming backwards.
Jenica began working on fertility treatments but the couple felt that might not be the answer.
Jenica said: “We felt that God was urging us to explore adoption throughout those four treatments. We were matched pretty quickly with a mother in California who was Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with twin Gɪʀʟs. Since it was a twin, we decided to put a pause on fertility treatments and just focus on these sweet Gɪʀʟs.”
The Gɪʀʟs’ biological mother finally had a second thought. For each of their daughters, that mother chose two different households. Jenica and her husband were absolutely devastated. But they didn’t give up.
Then they adopted a 6-month-old Bᴏʏ in Louisiana. Their son is now 2.5 years old. But a few months after the adoption, they are wanting to have their own baby again.
She said: “We decided to turn to Dr. Mooney at Gynecology and Reproductive ᴍᴇᴅɪᴄɪɴᴇ because he had great recommendations along with all the doctors there. We did 4 rounds of IUI with Gonal-f injections, and on the last round before considering IVF we found out that we were Pʀᴇɢɴᴀɴᴛ with Quints!
My husband almost passed out and I just laughed. We have 3 Bᴏʏs and 1 pair of ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ twin Gɪʀʟs. Pregnancy is difficult with decisions like ‘selective abortion’, which doctor to use and the delivery hospital, and how to deal with being in bed rest or in the hospital for weeks on end, all that is still the best my mom can give my 2 year old. ”
But unfortunately, she later ʟᴏsᴛ her twin daughters. And that’s heartbreaking again. They were just as devastated as they were when they ʟᴏsᴛ their first daughter duo.
she sai: “I feel like God is playing a cruel joke on me and robbing us of all we’ve ever wanted. I kept thinking the Bᴏʏs wouldn’t make it either and it would be my fault. I had thoughts that I should have been more careful about what I did and how much I was on my feet. ”
She is afraid that she will lose her sons. Jenica was eventually admitted to the hospital and gave birth to all five children, but only the Bᴏʏs were alive. The Bᴏʏs have had some health problems and it’s been scary for the family.
She continued: “We’ve had countless expert appointments for all of the Bᴏʏs since then. And thank god, they’re getting better.
Now that our 8 month old Bᴏʏs have grown so much, they are about to surpass their big brother in weight and definitely love their cereal, big brother and their bikes and walkers. ”
Sometimes Jenica struggles with blaming herself for the ʟᴏss of Gɪʀʟs.
“I try to remind myself that Bᴏʏs are healthier because of that and they’ve reached their 28th week and grown up like champions and as healthy as any Pʀᴇᴍᴀᴛᴜʀᴇ baby at their age,” she said. that pregnancy. They thrived on the sacrifices of our ɪᴅᴇɴᴛɪᴄᴀʟ daughters. In the end, I wouldn’t trade anything about our journey because that’s what makes our family Uɴɪqᴜᴇ.”
