WEEK 21
How does the baby grow?
The baby now weighs over 300 grams and is about 26cm long – about the size of a carrot. The baby’s previous gentle movements become kicks and nicks. The baby’s eyebrows and eyelashes have appeared, and if the baby is a girl, her vagina has begun to form.

Changes occurring in the mother’s body during the 21st week of pregnancy
Perhaps moms are feeling quite comfortable on these days. The body is not too heavy and the discomfort from early pregnancy has almost disappeared.
However, moms still have to deal with some minor annoyances in this week. For example, oily skin may cause acne. At this stage, moms are also prone to varicose veins. The fetus’s development increases the pressure on the veins in the legs; higher progesterone levels cause the artery walls to dilate. Moms may also experience spider veins, especially in the ankles, legs, or face, which are uncomfortable and usually disappear after birth.
